When the ball crosses half court, a mobile post player, if possible, sets a very quick blind ball screen, just enough to give the ball handler an advantage while moving at speed. The screener immediately makes a long roll to the basket. The wing on the ball side lifts to the 45º position once the ball passes the extended free-throw line, preventing their defender from providing help.

Flash: quick screen and roll; there is no need to fully engage the defense. It is executed as the ball crosses half court, in the open floor and at speed.
Execution: As soon as the ball crosses half court, the ball handler receives a very quick blind ball screen followed by a long, aggressive roll. The ball handler can attack, pass to the roller or, if the rest of the defense has recovered and helps to stop the advantage, punish that help by passing to the corners or the 45º positions. If the roller draws defensive help, instead of making a long roll all the way to the basket, the roller makes a short roll and distributes the ball to the corners or the 45º positions.

The corner player on the side where the attack develops (either through the ball handler or the roller) must be ready to lift to the 45º position once the ball passes the extended free-throw line, making it harder for the defense to help from that side.

The first option is for the ball handler. If that is not available, look for the roll. If neither option is available, move the ball to punish the defensive help on the ball handler or the roller.
