1-2-2 defense, option pass to the low post from the corner
STEP 1
Initial positions are set so the team can move in a coordinated way and create space.
STEP 2
3 places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves. Shooting guard moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space. 1 moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space. 4 places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves.
STEP 3
Center places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves. 4 places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves. Small forward changes location seeking advantage over the defender and scoring opportunities. Shooting guard places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves.
STEP 4
Shooting guard adjusts position to facilitate ball movement and anticipate the defense. 3 adjusts position to facilitate ball movement and anticipate the defense. 1 moves to support teammates and maintain constant game flow.
STEP 5
Players adopt their starting formation, prepared for coordinated movements and penetration options.

1-2-2 defense, option pass to the low post from the corner
In this defense, it is very important to defend the high post. There must always be a defender in front to deny the reception since it is the most critical area of our defense.
Our 3 (forward) is responsible for defending the ball handler initially, although there will be rotations in other options. At the top of the zone are 1 and 2, and at the bottom 4 and 5.
In this option we did not trap 2-on-1 in the corner, and when the pass goes to the low post we do a 2-on-1 on that player. The rest of the players adjust to be in help and aware of the passing lanes.
