Iverson Cut - Example 4
STEP 1

Players adopt their starting formation, prepared for coordinated movements and penetration options.

STEP 2

Before the initial action, 1 is at the top, 2 is near the right low-post block, 3 is near the left wing, 4 is at the high post, and 5 is near the left low-post block.

To start, 3 executes the Iverson cut to the right wing through the high-post screen set by 4.

Meanwhile, 5 crosses the lane to the right low-post area through the cross screen set by 2.

Immediately after that, 3 receives the ball near the right wing while 2 and 4 cut to the left-corner and left-wing respectively.

After that, 3 could take a three-point shot if open or alternatively, 5 could receive the ball from 3 and attempt to score with a low-post move.

STEP 3

Next, if 3 did not take the jump shot or did not make the post-entry pass, then 3 could dribble to the baseline through the pass screen set by 5.

After that, 5 could make a short turn toward the lane area in front of the basket.

From there, 3 could attempt to score at the hoop or alternatively, 5 could receive the ball and also score around the basket.

In addition to those scoring possibilities, 2 or 4 on the weak side could receive the ball through a deflected pass from 3, which could then lead to potential jump shot opportunities.
