1-2-1-1 zone press defensive system, used after a made free throw.
STEP 1
Formation 1-2-1-1. If player 1 receives near the sideline, defenders x1 and x3 execute a trap.
STEP 2
If player 1 makes a “relief” pass, defender x2 sprints until x1 recovers, while defenders x4 and x5 protect the rim.
STEP 3
If player 3 passes to 2, the same “trap” action is executed on the opposite side.
STEP 4
If player 2 passes inside to 5, x4 recovers, x2 protects his side, x1 returns to the middle, x3 protects his side and x5 protects the rim.
