Continuous 2 on 1
STEP 1
Continuous 2-on-1 drill:
We divide the court into 2 halves lengthwise (see diagram).
The drill works both offensive superiority and defense.
Offense:
We divide the court into 2 halves lengthwise (see diagram).
The drill works both offensive superiority and defense.
Offense:
- Players must run through the outside and central lanes. Depends on how many lanes each coach sets (4 or 5).
- Ball circulation can follow our team rules, central or wing lane.
- Limit dribbling and always be aggressive to the basket.
- Limit passes after the three-point line (1 or none)
- Use passing fakes
- Players without the ball always run ahead of the JCB. If continuous step.
Defense:
- Use defensive fakes
- Stop the ball as far from the basket as possible.
- Use arms, make yourself big to occupy space.
Drill rules:
Offense:
- Start from baseline, pass to outside player who advances ball along the lane we set (I use both situations)
- Inbound passer must run along the lane opposite JCB (If JCB wins center, JSB goes along wing, outer lane)
- Attack fast using the above rules.
Defense:
- On baseline inbound, defender must go around/touch the cone placed at midcourt (can be closer to basket depending on player ages)
- Stop the ball as far as possible using defensive fakes
- If beaten or passed, recover quickly to at least contest or force errors by closing/contesting shots.
Continuation:
To make it continuous, the defender becomes attacker, rebounds or inbounds if basket is made to play on the other court with another teammate.

STEP 4
Shooting guard places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves. Shooting guard changes location seeking advantage over the defender and scoring opportunities. 1 shifts to an optimal spot on the court to maximize offensive efficiency. 3 moves to support teammates and maintain constant game flow.
STEP 9
Attacker who shoots at the basket: if he scores, he remains attacker and defends the passer.
The one who has to defend must touch the baseline and go around the cone to start the exercise.
Defender of the drill rebounds:
If scored on, inbound from baseline
If gets rebound, pivot for outside pass to the attacking teammate.

Defender of the drill rebounds:
If scored on, inbound from baseline
If gets rebound, pivot for outside pass to the attacking teammate.
- If scores, inbound from baseline
- If grabs rebound, goes directly with outside teammate (e.g., 5)
