Initial formation of players, ready to start the play with fluidity and clear passing lanes.

STEP 2

3 moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space. Shooting guard moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space. 1 alters position to create defensive mismatches and penetration options.

Exercise 1: Tail Tag

Chase exercise, the goal is to get the opponent's tail. 

Example of distractor progressions:

  1. The player can only take the tail from their partner. 
  2. There are no pairs. Chasers can steal a tail from anyone. 
  3. The player can only steal the tail from their partner, but the one being chased has the ball. If the chaser touches the ball, the chased player cannot move. 
  4. No pairs, the chased has the ball and chasers can take the tail from anyone. 
  5. Everyone with a ball.
