Play to create cuts to the basket with 5 players spread out

#Half-court basketball plays

STEP 1
To start the play, all 5 players must be open. The two occupying the 45º positions (any of them) work to receive. When "1" passes to one of the 45º spots, they will move to the opposite elbow to set an indirect screen.
STEP 2 3 places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves.
STEP 3
The first to move will be "3", who takes the screen to make a cut toward the basket, providing the first passing lane. If they can receive and finish, perfect; if they receive and don’t finish, a pass to "4" may occur for a reversal. If they cannot receive, they go to the corner, and "5" takes the indirect screen upward to move to the top to receive.
STEP 4 1 moves to support teammates and maintain constant game flow. Shooting guard moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space.
STEP 5 Center sets a precise screen helping a teammate penetrate towards the basket.
STEP 6
If there is no passing option, the same movement can continue with "1" opening up and working the "45º" positions to receive. Another option is that the first screen, instead of being played in front, if denied by the defender, can be used for a backdoor cut or even to fake playing the screen and then open up to the three-point line for a shot.
STEP 7
Another possible option is for the corner player, "4" in this case, to use the indirect screen to move up and curl toward the basket, creating a passing lane toward the hoop.
STEP 8 2 alters position to create defensive mismatches and penetration options. 4 adjusts position to facilitate ball movement and anticipate the defense.
STEP 9 3 alters position to create defensive mismatches and penetration options. Center sets a strong screen to free a teammate and create close-range scoring opportunities.
STEP 10
If none of these options work, we can continue the play with a one-on-one from "1" to "3" at 45º and a screen from "5", starting our "TRANSITION". These movements can be used as many times as desired and whenever needed. The important thing is to know how to gain advantages with cuts toward the basket.
