CLOSE OUT DRILLS - EXERCISE 1

Drill

DEVELOPMENT:

Players 1 and 2 are positioned as indicated in the diagram, ensuring they are active on their feet and have a good defensive posture. At the coach's signal, they will perform the corresponding action. In this case, if the coach says “1”, player 1 becomes the attacker and player 2 becomes the defender; if the coach says “2”, the roles are reversed. The attacker must step out of the 3-point line to receive and initiate the 1x1 situation. The defender must close out to defend the attacker properly.

VARIANTS:

If the defender is unable to close out in time, the attacker can be forced to make a hand change before initiating the 1x1.
