After Timeout Plays examples

After timeout plays, also known as ATOs, are special half-court sets designed by the coaching staff during a timeout featuring various offensive actions such as screens or cuts with the main purpose of creating scoring opportunities near the basket or perimeter.

After the timeout, the offensive team executes these specially designed plays, usually for the team’s best players as primary scoring options or for players with specific skills, such as three-point shooters, as secondary scoring options.
