Basketball drill 1-on-1 low-post reception
STEP 1

When player 1 starts dribbling, attacker 2 looks to establish position in the low post while the defender tries to prevent it.

STEP 2

Once player 1 starts dribbling, player 2 and the defender battle for position.

STEP 3

Once attacker 2 successfully receives the ball, they must try to score against defensive pressure.
Both offensive and defensive success should be rewarded.
The drill ends when either player scores.

Drill

1-on-1 Low-Post Reception

Three lines: one with the ball on the perimeter and the other two on the baseline.
The reception takes place on the ball side.
When the player with the ball starts dribbling, the attacker and defender begin fighting for position.
Once the attacker receives the ball, they must finish toward the basket.
Both offense and defense are rewarded equally.
