  • Indirect screen and roll: a player without the ball screens another teammate without the ball while the ball handler stays still. The player receiving the screen can cut to the ball or get it with a defensive advantage. The screener moves down in parallel to the ball handler.

STEP 1
Player number two will set a screen on the defender of player number three.
STEP 2
The player who received the screen can take two options depending on which gives more advantage: 1. They can go get the ball, or 2. cut and replace the position of player number three.
STEP 3
On this occasion, player number three decides to cut toward the basket.
STEP 4
Once the cut is made, the player with the ball will pass it. Defender number two will come out to provide help, leaving player two open to continue, with defender number three behind them.
STEP 5
Player number three can pass to player number two. In this action, player 5’s defender might come out to help and defend number three, but will leave their attacker open with the opportunity to shoot a three-pointer.
