Decision-Making and Finishing
Basketball drill decision-making and finishing
STEP 1

Starting setup and player positioning on the court.
  1. Players line up in 2 lines, one in each perimeter corner (minimum 2 players).
  2. The coach is positioned at the top (the coach can be replaced by a player who rotates into this role).

STEP 2

Start of the drill:
  1. Both players start dribbling at the same time toward the 45º wing positions.

STEP 3

Once the players start, the coach moves toward one of them. The player the coach approaches must make the pass and cut to the basket to receive the ball back and finish.

STEP 4

Player #2 finishes, while #1, after making the pass, also cuts to the basket to receive a pass from the coach and finish.

STEP 5

Player #2 gets their own rebound and switches lines. #1 finishes and also switches lines. The coach returns to the top.

STEP 6

Point guard alters position to create defensive mismatches and penetration options.
