Sink to get open, create space to receive the ball. Anticipated cuts and pauses to get free.

#Basketball passing drills

STEP 1
Player at the top, defense passes the ball and closes out on the shooter; Player O2 will make a cut toward the screen to create space and receive the ball at 45°.
STEP 2
Player O2 makes a V-cut, first reaching the screen and then moving to W to receive the ball; it’s important that Player O1 anticipates the pass so player and ball arrive at W simultaneously.
STEP 3
When Player O2 receives the pass, they must threaten the basket (triple-threat), X2 must close out the shot and space to prevent penetration through the center of the court.
STEP 4
Player O2 must look for the opportunity to attack the basket, can choose to attack the baseline or the elbow; player O1 must react to move without the ball toward the dribbler’s direction.
STEP 5 1 alters position to create defensive mismatches and penetration options. 1 places themselves strategically to generate passing angles and anticipate defensive moves.
STEP 6 We define the starting positions of the players, placing each strategically to optimize passes and attacking options.
