Coaching guide
Good baseline inbounds design balances a primary scoring action with clear timing, legal screening angles and a safe outlet. The diagrams below let coaches compare those reads without treating every possession as the same set.
How to use this series
Choose an option that fits the time available, the inbounder's vision and the defense you expect. Rehearse the first read and the safety outlet together.

Baseline
Look for the guard continuation at the base of the triangle OR the 5’s roll OR a 2vs2 between players 1 and 4
LATERAL (baseline)
Simultaneous screens parallel to the baseline. If there is a switch inside, 4 pops quickly and 5 continues to receive at the rim.
Baseline shooter 1
Baseline play with two shooting options off the pass. First for an outside player, second at the top for the 4.
