Opposite Cross Side
STEP 1

We place at least 2 players with the ball (1 and 2 in the diagram).
The rest of the players are positioned on both sides of the free throw extension (can be inside or outside the court).
Once 1 finishes his first basket, 2 can start the exercise as well.
We count baskets (set a target for a certain time); if they miss, subtract, if there is a bad pass and the ball goes out of bounds, return to 0.
With this exercise, we also aim to work on transition finishes, zero-step, guided dribble, receptions, and quick passes.
Emphasize lead passes, players asking for the ball, and passers passing where requested.
We can introduce all types of passes: one-handed push, bounce passes, etc.

STEP 2

A JCB1 starts by passing the ball to JSB3, who is on his side; he will return it to 1, who will enter the court to receive with a zero-step

STEP 3

The receiver 1 will receive the ball, directing it with a maximum dribble to the opposite side

STEP 4

1 will pass the ball to 5, who will return it to 1, who will cut to the basket to finish.
The previous passer 3 will switch sides after passing to the opposite position.
5, when returning the ball to 1, will need to go for the rebound of 1’s finish

STEP 5

1 finishes at the basket and 5 goes for the rebound (the ball cannot touch the floor)

STEP 6

Center shifts to an optimal spot on the court to maximize offensive efficiency.

STEP 7

5 grabs the rebound (if basket was made, takes it from the baseline; if missed, pivots) to pass to JSB 7.
7 passes to 1, who will receive the ball the same way he did with 3

STEP 8

Zero-step reception facing the opposite side to pass to 9

STEP 9

After the rebound, 5 takes position 7 and 7 moves to position 9.
1 passes to 9 and cuts to the basket to receive the ball and finish

STEP 10

9 will go for the rebound after 1’s finish

STEP 11

STEP 12

STEP 13

Player no. 9 will become the ball handler (JCB) to start the drill and player no. 1 will go to the wings as passer/rebounder.

STEP 14

Players are positioned at key points on the court, seeking offensive and defensive balance.

Drill

Opposite Cross Side

Exercise for basketball-adapted physical conditioning, where we work on fitness as well as passing on the move, receptions, finishes, and rebounding.
