Drill
This drill works on full-court dribbling, passing, different types of shots and finishes at the basket.
We need a minimum of 6 players divided between the two baskets and positioned on opposite sides of the court, with the basket either to their left or right depending on the type of ball-handling we want to work on.

Basketball drill dribbling, passing and shooting, step 1: divide the players into two groups as shown in the diagram
STEP 1

  • Divide the players into two groups as shown in the diagram. Three cones are placed in a line along each sideline, and the players must dribble through them in a zigzag pattern.
  1. The first player on each side has a ball, the next player does not, and the following player has a ball.
  2. The first player on each side starts by dribbling with the right hand through the cones, changing hands after passing each cone until going beyond the last one. At that point, the player uses a hesitation dribble while the player without the ball moves up to the 45-degree position inside the three-point line, approximately level with the free-throw line, to receive the pass and move towards the opposite side.

3. The players who made the pass cut to the basket and receive a pass from the player on the baseline with the ball to finish at the basket. After getting the rebound, they take the position on the baseline.
4. At the same time, the players on both sides who received the ball begin dribbling towards the opposite basket to perform the same movement as their teammates and restart the drill.
