CLOSE OUT DRILLS - EXERCISE 3
Drill

DEVELOPMENT:
The idea of the drill is to play three consecutive 1x1s in an attack-defend-pass format. The first 1x1 begins when defender 2 passes the ball to attacker 1, leading to a close-out situation to defend that 1x1. When finished, defender 2 will rebound and pass the ball to attacker 3, who is waiting outside the 6.75-meter line, while attacker 1 will go to defend him, giving another close-out situation. This will be repeated once more so that player 2 attacks, player 3 defends, and player 1 is the passer.
VARIANTS:
- If the defender is unable to get there in time, the attacker can be forced to make a hand change before initiating the 1x1.
