Drill

Half-court drill focused on precision and ball circulation with 4 active attackers and 4 defenders present.

STEP 1
2 rows of attackers at 45º behind the three-point line.
2 rows of defenders (with the ball) in the baseline area.
STEP 2
Defenders pass the ball diagonally to the attackers and run to defend them (closeout/defensive recovery).
STEP 3
Attackers must be as aggressive as possible and read the defense:
  • If the defender stays far: shoot.
  • If the defender reaches to contest: drive to the basket.
Defenders try to prevent scoring and, if there is a shot, box out for the rebound.
Since another 1x1 is happening at the same time, all players must pay attention to the other players on the court, not just their matchup.
STEP 4
From each duel, the player who grabs the rebound will pass the ball to the defenders' line and go to the opposite attackers' line.
The one who does not get the rebound joins a defenders' line.
