Entry worm drill. Basketball exercise.

Drill

This exercise is a basketball warm-up that I sometimes use in my training sessions because it combines a fairly high pace (in case physical fitness needs to be improved) with finishing work. It is very simple and can be done with a wide range of ages. Ideally, this basketball exercise is done with 6 to 10 players, although it is possible with more.

STEP 1
The initial setup consists of one line of players on each side, positioned at midcourt. Each line should face a different basket. The first player in line will have the ball.
STEP 2
The drill consists of catching the other line. This is achieved when you score in their basket before they do. The dynamic is simple: Players head to a basket, the first player (with the ball) must score as instructed, and then run to the next basket to score there.
STEP 3
To prevent only the first player from running each time, I always set the rule that all team members must be inside the three-point line for the basket to count.
STEP 4
Once the player with the ball shoots, they go to the end of the line, and the next player picks up the ball and dribbles towards the opposite basket.
You can have them score layups for a faster pace, or use different finishes or even shots if you want a shorter drill and more technical work.
