STEP 1
Exercise for developing game concepts (Direct/Indirect Screen and One-on-One)
Player positions: (see diagram)
JCB (3 & 4) on baseline
JSB (1 & 2) at half court
Inside players (5 & 6) at low post on the opposite side of the ball.
Start with JCB passing to receiver (1 & 2) who must receive in motion at 45º at the three-point line.
Step 2:
Int (5 & 6) move up to set frontal Direct Screen
JCB (1 & 2) perform frontal DS
Options to work on: (All situations that occur in a Direct Screen)
- Pick & Roll
- Pick & Pop
- Pick and shoot
- Pick and penetrate JCB
- Vary passes to the continuation (Bounce passes, Hook, Hoop, etc.)
**Of course we can introduce other concepts such as One-on-One and Indirect Screen**
And place the picks wherever we find most useful.
I will make another post showing how it would be using Indirect Screen.
STEP 2
3 moves strategically to provide new passing lanes and open space. 4 moves to support teammates and maintain constant game flow. Center plants a screen to improve attack angle and facilitate ball reception.
STEP 3
At the end of the exercise, 3 and 4, who were passers, switch to the opposite court to become receivers like 1 and 2, and we start again continuously.
