DEVELOPMENT:
Attackers 1 and 2 will pass the ball until one of them decides to attack the basket for a 1x1, but they can only do so at the moment of receiving the pass. Meanwhile, defenders will have to change their defensive position depending on whether they are guarding a player with the ball or without the ball, until one of them has to defend the close-out of their match-up.
VARIATIONS:
- We can allow the attackers to take 1-2 dribbles without necessarily attacking the basket, forcing the defender without the ball to stunt and making it harder for them to recover.
- If we want to emphasize the close-out, we can place the defender of the off-ball player in a “Last” position, simulating that they are guarding a player in the corner, so that they have to cover more space.
