STEP 1
Initial setup of the drill
STEP 2
The drill starts when player 3, with the ball, dribbles towards the cone closest to his position, goes around it, and drives to the basket leaving that central cone behind. Once he steps into the paint, he retreats to go around the next cone and, after doing so, passes to the player in the corner. Then he cuts to the basket where he receives the pass from the opposite side to finish with a layup. Meanwhile, player 1 has already started to perform the same circuit in reverse.
STEP 3
This is the same route as in the previous step but in reverse direction.
STEP 4
Different variations and conditions can be added to this drill.
Examples
  1. A defender coming from the baseline who forces either a drive or a shot.
  2. Vary the type of pass: one-handed, overhead, bounce, etc.
  3. Instead of giving the first pass after going around the cone, execute a handoff and continue until the coach calls “go,” at which point the decision is to drive to the basket or take a shot. In this case, only one ball is required.
